A Little About RaunchTone

First off, I want to say thank you to everyone who has been willing to take a chance on a new, small guitar business. Every order means a lot to me. There's something pretty cool about seeing an order come through from someone I've never met who decided, "Yeah, I'll give these guys a shot."

Of course, running a guitar parts business involves a few things that are considerably less exciting than guitars, like shipping. I'm still working through some of the technical details of getting orders out the door efficiently and making sure the whole process works the way it should. I appreciate everyone's patience while I get the kinks worked out.

I'm really interested in hearing how we are doing. If you've ordered something from RaunchTone, I'd like to know what you think. What did you like? What could have been better? Was anything confusing, inconvenient, or just plain annoying? I'd rather hear about it from you than discover it after making the same mistake multiple times.

Getting Back to Building

One of the things I'm really hoping to do is get back to building guitars.

That's really where this whole thing comes from. I like building guitars. I like figuring out how things work, trying new ideas, and obsessing over details that most people will never notice.

The problem for me is finding the time.

I have a full-time job, and between work, commuting, and all the other stuff that somehow manages to fill up a week, there aren't always a lot of hours left for guitar building. It's hard to get much accomplished when you only have an hour here and there. By the time I get everything set up, find the tool I swear I put right there, remember what I was doing, and actually start working, half the evening is gone.

So I'm trying to find a balance between the day job, running RaunchTone, keeping up with orders and the website, and actually getting back into the shop.

I don't expect to have a warehouse full of guitars appearing overnight. For now, I'm taking it one project at a time and trying to make some progress whenever I can.

Hopefully, I'll be able to share some of those builds here as they happen—including the good parts, the questionable decisions, and probably a few "well, that's not supposed to look like that" moments.

Thanks for coming along for the ride. RaunchTone is still getting started, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes.
